Join ISSWA and ISPA for an extended 2-hour Lunch & Learn session on August 11th from 9-11 AM, Sue Etscheidt will speak on three high priority topics:

Extended School Year Services [ESYS]: This section of the presentation will address the following questions regarding ESYS: 1) what are the four (4) essential inquiries guiding the determination of a student’s need for ESYS?, 2) how is the need for ESYS established and what data should be collected? 3) What are key considerations in the LEA provision of ESYS? For example, can existing summer school options serve as ESYS? May students receive support-only ESYS, such as speech-only ESYS?

IEP Compliance: This section of the presentation will highlight the TOP THREE ZONES of IEP Non-Compliance, including 1) Fidelity and Evidentiary Factors, 2) Implementation Failures, and 3) Insufficiency or Intensity Factors. Recommendations for enhancing IEP compliance will be included.

Supplementary Aids and Services [SAS]: This section of the presentation will feature an approach to selecting supplementary aids and services to support progress in the general education classroom for students with disabilities. The approach emphasizes a “beyond the laundry list” selection, including executive functioning supports and social/emotional/behavior supports.

This session will be recorded and shared with registrants in case you are unable to attend the event live.
