Legislative and Advocacy Co-Chair: Emilie Souhrada

Emilie Souhrada, MSW, LISW, received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Social Work and Spanish and her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2005 with a school social work specialization from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, Emilie completed the Professional Service Administrative Endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa in 2014. Emilie currently works as a school social worker at Central Rivers AEA in Waterloo, Iowa. She has served on the ISSWA Board since 2014 first as Treasurer and then as President.  Emilie is the ISSWA Legislative and Advocacy Chairperson.  She also serves as the Vice President on the Midwest School Social Work Council and on the SSWAA Advocacy and Legislative  Action Committee.

Legislative and Advocacy Co-Chair: Lindsey Kutcher

Lindsey Kutcher, MSW, LISW, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Psychology at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus in Family Centered Practice and a School Social Work Endorsement at the University of Iowa. Currently, Lindsey is a School Social Worker with Grant Wood Area Education Agency (GWAEA) in the role of SEBH Systems Coach, supporting MTSS/PBIS for SEBH. Lindsey is a member of GWAEA's Crisis Team, a trained team of experts available to assist schools in times of crisis or traumatic event and to help schools and districts plan for such events.  In addition, she is a School Social Work Lead and on the Safety Team, a team that develops PL and provides coaching support on Suicide Prevention, Behavior Threat Assessment and Management, and PREPaRE at GWAEA.  Lindsey has served on the ISSWA board since 2019 as the Webmaster, President Elect, President, Past President, and currently Legislative and Advocacy Co-Chair. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys cycling, camping, hiking, and crossfit.
